 Looks like we’re headed down this road again ….. $1412.00 US before shipping and import fees, which after a conservative estimate would raise that figure to about $1600. US . I’m not going to start a shit storm here , but simply going to say that for that kind of money I’ll buy an original for about $300-400, and find some original or repro patches for around $200-250 put them on the jacket in the correct places, another $150. for sewing and save about $800.00. Just my opinion guys, and I’m sure others will disagree but hey …. That’s why they make vanilla and chocolate!

Hey Stu, have you considered the Eastman 'Pukin dogs' patched 7823D(WP)?
It's a copy of the '68 Martin Lane. If Eastman's is truly a stitch for stitch copy; you're going to love it.
I absolutely adore my '68 Martin Lane; it's my absolute favourite of all the jackets I own.
Absolutley. But considering buying and patching something too.

Would love to see that posted on here @MaydayWei.
Won’t go down the 5* route again @ausreenactor.
Ooops just came across that JP marketplace website you use @ausreenactor.
What size is a 40” chest in BR…? Medium or Large.

Id wait for AVI's Star Sportswear.

These BR G-1s and M-422as are not that nice imho ...Heavy, stiff leather, not very comfy...
You'll be hard to find a repro G-1 that fits as beautifully as your ELC (and AVI).

Cockpit's 100 Missions G-1 is fantastic! Quality, robust, supple, oozes vintage appeal and doesn't try to be something its not. Ive had a couple, 100 Missions and the Forrestal... regret selling the 100 Missions. They something come up on 'sale'...
The Cockpit Heroes G-1s is phenomenal, pricey... but Im not one to want to parade around wearing that. Without patches, I would probably buy one.
For me, they do feel a touch short in the body, but doable... perfect sleeve length.

I was actually planning a NY holiday before the lockdowns. One of the big plans was to go t the Cockpit concept store and pick up another 100 Missions... Import duties from the US can be nasty.
I had also corresponded with the the owners of Cockpit (Avirex) to have a Heres G-1 without patches... The answer was yes, but not cost reduction.
Also the 'long' version would be ok in the body, but then too long in the sleeves... All this without postage and imports... rather get an ELC.

All this said, and as you are already on the ball with, Jay will be offerings Foster G-1 at some point.

I have not seen the cockpit top gun movie heroes G1 worn better than that, Brett! They should give you one for free just for modeling from them! The bastards!

Wow that’s really slim in the body, fits you perfectly. I’m gonna watch ‘Top Gun’ tonight…You added the patches yourself and they are jacket period relevant..? I know nothing about patches or USN..!

Thanks very much, Stu!
I would never patch an original; my authenticity OCD would drive me nuts.
The jacket was already patched when I got it. From forum consensus, the patch work is original and genuine. Very, very lucky to have it in my collection.
