Looking at those jackets …. Is there anything that even comes close to them in terms of accuracy and quality ? Sorry to sound like a GW commercial, but just expressing an opinion.

JC still is THE MAN!!!!!

Can't help but feel an undertone of annoyance with the one jacket made for the customer who wanted larger pockets!!!!

Yeah, larger pockets is such an odd request. It’s not like the M-444 has small pockets by any stretch.

That's exactly why I was telling you earlier Burt that from now on for me I think I'm going to stick with GW if I want a WWII era US flight jacket repro. Jackets made by a real artist and with a real love for these things, made to measure and with an unparalleled attention to detail.

I actually also now think that the GW wait time is a real blessing in disguise, it slows down your jacket purchasing and I don't mind that. I'm going to be spending quite a bit on that next jacket but because I know that what I will get after the wait will be a thing of beauty that satisfies the jacket urge.

So do you have any plans for what the jacket after the one you’ve already ordered will be? ;)

Haha Jan!

Another GW :D

I haven't gotten that far but definitely another GW. I spoke with my wife who was pretty sick of me buying jackets before and explained the whole GW thing - how he makes them, the level of detail and accuracy, the wait time, etc, and praise the saints she's OK with me buying a GW jacket every 1 to 2 years. As she said "makes a nice change from you buying shitty jackets every couple of months"

So happy wife and I can buy a new A-2. Win - win!

Oh, I assumed it would be another GW. But what type? Think how much use you could get out of a B-3 - and the wife wouldn’t be complaining about the knit cuffs look. ;)

The idea of a B-3 has been creeping up a lot over the last half year or so. Also a jacket that I could get a lot of wear out of here like my Irin.
