Ah yes but then you have balls of steel !
I would worry about where to have the colour boundary and the tape seams might be tricky. My hands are already starting to shake at the thought of spilling dye over a £700 jacket.
Your jacket does look good though.

I agree, the grain looks very interesting. I wonder if they sell directly to the US or to Europe ? Perhaps there is a business opportunity here somewhere ?
I notice that since Gary Eastman did the mixed batch Perry, Toys McCoys and The Few have followed suit.

I can almost certainly say that they do not sell outside Japan. In my experience with buying from Japan in bulk, I almost always had to go through a middle man. That means increased cost for the buyer. There is always a business opportunity, but knowing how the Japanese deal, I can honestly And confidently say that nobody would buy them at the prices that would be charged to make it worth the effort. Other makers might be a different story...

How different then from the electronics and auto industry. How long will it be before some Chinese jacket enthusiast decides to open a factory ?

There's a big difference with regards to those industries. A contact in Japan was explaining that it might be because a lot of those products aren't made in Japan and there are certain loop holes that they can use. The issue of buying direct happens mostly in niche markets, such as this one. There are exceptions however... the toy industry is massive and most of the japanese companies still only sell directly inside japan.

Not quite, I bought the knit at cost; the thread and loops came free...
OK, you're the Mod, I'll send it over.
