Throwing My Hats in the Ring

Jan, do you see any notable differences in the dome height between the three caps (measurement from above ear, over top of crown, to above opposite ear)? Asking as I am one of those individuals with a shorter head height.
Hadn’t even thought to check, until you brought it up. I measured, and got the following numbers:

Bronson: 13” or 33cm
MASH: 12.2” or 31cm
WWII Impressions: 12.2” or 31cm

We have a late entry into this race: an original I picked up at the Show of Shows.

(No, not going to use and abuse it like the repros, but now I’ve got a control group).

There was also one for sale that had been signed by two of the Doolittle Raiders. Too rich for my blood, but I got a picture:

I need to take photos for this but I probably have half a dozen at least. One Bronson I got on sale, and the rest originals including a kakhi one, all that fit my massive cranium, all bought back when nobody was making decent repros....

Word to the wise...size up if you are ordering a B-2 from ELC. I've never seen any feedback about them fitting small, but the cap that I received today fits smaller than a 6 7/8 rather than the 7 1/8 that was ordered. Maybe I accidentally the yamaka version?

Yes, I followed the size chart. 7 1/8 supposedly fits up to 1cm larger than my loose head measurement of 56cm.

Below are two other 7 1/8 ELC caps for reference.

Maybe when the furriness flattens out it will fit better?

Unfortunately, no. I can almost force it down to normal wearing height, where the crown of the cap touches the crown of my head. It's an absolute vice though. Interior circumference is only 51mm and that's with the shearling somewhat compressed. It's so tight that I can't fold the ear cover flap down over to tops of my ears, let alone my entire ear.

I even tested it on my 8 year old daughter's head who has a 54cm head measurement (with hair) and it's too tight on her as well.

My only explanation is that it's a mis-tagged XS cap.

That sucks. Not like they’re cheap.

What’s weird is that it the same thing happened to me with a 5-Star B-2. Billed as a 7 1/2, but nowhere near that.
