They were caught up in the earthquake, building was not worth saving. Friend of mine has photos of the place taken the next day..place was a disaster.

I was actually there, in Christchurch, just before RMNZ closed. Spent a couple of hours with Paddy and heard first hand accounts of the Earthquake. Tried on jackets (unfortunately none fit) and toured the remaining factory, which was still bust making jackets. I even got to see and inspect row after row of originals and production jackets. By then, they were already in the process of handing over to Japan, and had quite a few Japanese there. Sad story. RMNZ made some of the best high end A-2s...
