Sweet G-1. I really like how the Cagleco fits slightly trimmer than other 7823 G-1s from the same time period.
Is the cap your wearing your father's as well?

So cool! Having your father's flight jacket makes it priceless. It has special qualities over a leather jacket originally worn by a stranger like most vintage jackets.

Nice! :)

It must be priceless to have you old mans jacket. The Cagelcos are cool, with a nice collar. I have had my eye on one of those, but eventually ended up with a L.W. Fosters from the same period.

Dare I say that you look like Maverick in Top Gun.. :D

That is so cool. Tresure this one. The patches are really neat. Fit is perfect. Hey is the hat part of your Dad's collection?

Yes, the Gladiators cap was my Dads - I should've mentioned that! He also saved a really nice scrapbook of VA-106 photos and press clippings that I have now. The shades are a pair he gave to my Uncle years ago that my Uncle recently gave back to me, and you can't really see them in the pic but I've got his tags on as well.

Awesome, Burnsie...I know all too well your dad's squadron...gotta share my dad's USN stuff also, as well as mine...thanks for opening up this thread on USN, more importantly, your homage to your dad!!!

Hey, Thommy,
had a little free time to just get some pics out to you this morning of my humble collection. All the moutons are original, and models I have are mostly Martin Lanes, a couple of Brills, and one Cal as yours...get you more of my other G's to you later. (I really have a favor for A-2's though).
My dad's recovering from a major illness, so when he gets better, will ask him if I could post his stuff for you. Take care.

(The two G's (non-vin.) were painted by my childhood friend).

Very nice jackets Pensacola! I personally prefer A-2's myself for everyday wear, but maybe we can get some other Navy aviation enthusiasts to post pics here too!
