I came across these two nice shots of Lt Colonel Robert "Digger" Williams, 334 FS, 4th FG and his dog Duke. Williams originally adopted Duke and was subsequently shot down in March 1944, spending the rest of the war as a POW. Duke was later adopted by Ralph K Hoffer, and when he himself went down, Duke was in turn adopted by Maj Howard D "Deacon" Hively, of the same outfit.
