Not sure if this has been covered in
many past discussions but saw a FB pop up yesterday, one of many re McQueen and ‘that’ film and one response claimed said jacket was made by Belstaff! Now I know SMcQueen did wear their m/c jackets as part of the US team competing in trials in Europe but then checked and on their website and they do claim they made his A2!!!

But it is perhaps actor Steve McQueen who should be credited for widening Belstaff’s appeal.

He sported a Belstaff jacket in the classic, 1963 wartime film, The Great Escape and soon after it began to gain cult status among the rich and famous.

Today Belstaff jackets have been seen on the backs of Ewan McGregor, Kate Moss, Will Smith, David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Hilary Swank.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

lol, as though Belstaff proves any of their claims.

Well there are two phases of Belstaff the original British brand (Classic practical oilskin) that I collect and the Italian (fashion oriented) take-over that tends to advertise a somewhat fakish newer image based on a distorted history of british and international motorcyclist...etc

I don't remember McQueen wearing a trialmaster in TGE....;)

That makes a ton of sense - and it would track with this silly TGE claim…
