sz 48 Lost Worst A-2

I recall an old discussion of this on the previous incarnation of VLJ. Some folks were reporting that jackets that exhibited these black scuff marks had hide that was dyed all the way thru (as evidenced by the cross section of inside pocket flap edge around snaps.) I had an old 90's vintage LW A-2 that had hide that was not dyed as such. You could see a light middle portion of the cross section. And I did not have any such scuffing but then again I didn't own the jacket that long, although I did get some good wear out of it.

Been discussed before. Photos of an original were shown with the same issue. As to LW, I have one, like it and it looks the part despite the criticisms of it on the forum.

G&B suffer from the same wear indications on HH and some of their Goat. I remember seeing original jackets on E bay with dark wear spots. Very interesting...

Originals didn't get darker too?
My original Foster Sportswear AN-J-3a started off fairly mint but as it's an everyday wearer it has some dark wear starting to show but not on the same areas as that jacket, mostly around the pocket buttonholes and inside the windflap.
