B-15A contract (33-038) 45-8965 from fiscal year 1945 (i.e. July '44-June '45), made by Superior Togs Mfg. Co. of NYC. Picked it up on eBay a few weeks ago:

The right inside pocket is marked 5514 Riley. I assume it's the name of the pilot. Natalie and I are going to attempt to chase him down.:D

And of course, gotta have a fit pic:

The condition of this one is superb. I'm used to A-2 jackets where, even if the leather's in great shape, they still feel fragile, due to the cotton stitching, but this jacket genuinely feels solid. It very likely will get a bit of wear this winter.

I've seen originals for sale here in Europe and Japan Jan, and not in as good condition as yours, it's why I bought my early Buzz Sugar Cane two as they had the age and wear to look original, of course not originals like yours, well done and good luck on the research

Looks great. There's that square shoulder design which carried on through to MA1s and L2 type jackets. Many repros don't seem to catch that.

You should be able to wear that one without worry.

Nice find Jan! I haven't seen those snaps on the sides of the chest before. The Conmar zipper is the same as I have on my BR B-15 by the way.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised as well. I've always seen them with the type that you find on Eastman's repro. I'm a bit surprised that the tabs of fabric they're attached to seem to be a slightly darker shade than the rest of the cotton shell. But I'm sure variation was common.
