Hi guys, seen this on a Japanese site, apart from the collar initially looks ok but I've never seen the work before, for a start the collar is white, anyway here's the pics

Yeah the mouton Church used tends to turn to a white blond. More so than any other original manufacturer. They used the red and the reddish brown Rayon liners. Both at the same time for a short period. The zipper looks like it's NOS. The label is nice. Those knits look bad. Looks to be a poly blend or maybe acrylic. The rib rack weave is too wide. That's a shame but otherwise looks like a good repro.

Cheers, I never knew that, yeah shame about the knits, so any mouton that looks white blond is correct then? Thanks for the education/heads up, I would have assumed the mouton was wrong otherwise

The jacket's an obvious reproduction, and a bad one at that, including the knock off Talon zip.

Blond mouton:
If it's on a Church yes. Gordon and Ferguson is the next closest but those faded to a more honey brown. Most others faded to a rust color.

The zip is real. It's a NOS Talon.

Retail on the jacket 160,000 yen. $1200 usd

If that's the retail then it's low priced as they're asking around 200 bucks I think

Eh, we must have looked at very different Church jackets. None I've seen have been anywhere near as light in the color of their mouton as this repro. Mostly they've been honey-colored:

Even Thurston's mouton looks a little light to me but it could be the pic

Some pale mouton did occur...

The zip may be a real repro, but it's definitely not a NOS Talon.
Here's the repro. Look closely at the strange rounded zip teeth, and the wrong curve to the top of the puller - a subtle but noticeable difference compared to an original.

vs an original NOS Talon.

I never claimed you did.

My point was that when Church jackets did turn blond, they didn't turn as light as that repro. Even the one Dany listed, which is as light as I've seen them, isn't as pale as that repro.

I agree. There may be one or two original M422a's out there with blond mouton, but how they became to be so bleached is anyone's guess. Replaced? left to dry out in the sun?
Why anyone would make a repro based on this odd ball look is beyond me but what do I know.
