Squiggly Crown Zips

I have a GW Bronco which has a bit of a woovery Crown zipper applied. At first I thought this might not be good as far as "authenticity" goes so I did a lot of searching and found that au contraire the wavy Crown is easy to find on original A-2s- maybe even easier to find that straight ones!

And I have many more examples in my morgue! These are just from the Bronco section. There must be something innate to the Crown which makes for thes very woovy intallations. Maybe I'm wrong and many types do this. Maybe you guys have discussed this before!

Anyway- now if I get a repro with a squiggly Crown I won't trip- for sure it's "authentic"!

often wavy zippers [crowns especially] are due to jacket vertical [top to bottom] shrinkage. it doest have to be much, just enough to affect the zipper. pull one your jacket by grabbing the top front and bottom front, and you will see the zipper straighten out some.
