Looks good. It's an earlier Lost Worlds but still very nice and great looking leather. and the right size, damn it.

Why is such a decent looking Dubow repro let down by having incorrect ring snaps, a missing digit on the label and a repro zip with a plastic reinforcement strip?

Good questions, but none of that is on their current versions, well except the zip in which case they replace the plastic guards with cloth. According to them it is a US made Talon, but not a WW2 era repro.

Has he finally corrected the label? As well as the missing digit, the LW version used a separate size tag for the 27798 contract.

The website still shows the justification ... other contract Dubow labels with separate sizing, and the original worn 27798 label with the missing digit.

The label hasn't been corrected. I suspect that won't happen unless he runs out of labels.
I do seem to remember seeing another original label, maybe it was on the ACME site, missing the same digit.
But it could be worse, could be a label saying Lost Worlds instead of Dubow.

Probably, it's easy enough to lose a "1" ... point is, it wasn't born like that. I don't see it being corrected now, apart from the additional expense of a different label for each size, Stu would be admitting he was wrong.

The missing number doesn't fit with Lost Worlds philosophy of not replicating errors. That said the missing digit from the LW Dubow label could be the error of the label maker LW used , which would be ironic.
