Is this what they call Oi? Or is that more hardcore?

Tim P said:better. I guess it was reverse engineered at the time to suit the sensibilities of the skinheads.
Slade are the most famous of three great bands my home town produced. Before becoming Slade they were called the 'N Betweens and Ambrose Slade, both names very much of their time, but I would never have called them "a folk band"...especially to their faces! :lol:joeson said:A bit like Slade standing for, 'skinheads love and defend england'.It's actually a shortened version of their original name Ambrose Slade, which betrays the fact that they were originally a folk band.
havocpaul said:Sham were a pain in the a** back in the punk days....they attracted the National Front skins and their gigs were mega-violent. Pursey didn't hold right-wing views but by turning up at many punk gigs especially Clash gigs meant those thugs followed too. My band were on the wrong end of those Nazi skins once in Croydon and we got cuts and bruises.
