Schott's A-2 claim - real or just marketing?

Here are the relevant pages from the War Supply Contract list from 1940-1945. The only Schott listed is a company in California that supplied electrical cords. I suppose it's conceivable they produced equipment for the armed forces prior to 1940, but I doubt it.
