RMNZ B-3

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about buying a B-3 from RMNZ, Paddy tells me that they are about to cease production. So if you have ever wanted one of these superb heavy last a lifetime jackets, this might be the last opportunity to own one.
They very rarely come up on ebay.

Very bad news. Paddy mentioned that they can't get the right skins and that only The Few will offer them. Implies that they aren't as good just my opinion.

Wow! Makes me glad I made my purchase when I did!

Seems odd that in NZ and here in Australia there are no suitable fleece????

That is bad news. I've never owned a RMNZ B-3, but they look awesome and heavy duty. Does anyone know what the difference would be between a FEW B-3 and the RMNZ B-3? I know the materials are of a higher quality, but is the difference something that you can feel?

Same quality more choice twice the price....!

I think there lies the reason The Few version can have skins available and the RMNZ version not.

It'd be interesting to compare the RMNZ / The Few B-3's with ELC B3's I think.

BTW, I think this weekend i'm going to be able to wear my B-3 in chilly UK!

It's the same factory and the same machinists just a different marketing strategy. I still think it's a mistake to phase out sheepskins from RMNZ.

i think they should drop The Few and concentrate on RMNZ! a decent website and a European dealer would do wonders...

I recently as a RMNZ B-3 with a made in the united Kingdom label. They did once have a factory here and have sales reps. but it was not a success.

Interesting point John. I don't at all doubt what you're saying but I've been interested in flying jackets and buying repros on and off since the mid '80's and I never knew that, or was was aware of a factory or outlet. When and where was it (the factory) running? How long for?

Cheers

Chris
