Recent restoration

Recently finished up this original A2 restoration. Jacket must have belonged to a painter as there were literally several hundred paint splatter specs on it. Spent a few days cleaning the paint off & conditioning it, as it was also pretty dry & stiff before replacing the missing liner & a new set of knits.

This is why you get the referrals if anyone asks who can get a job done at the highest standard!

Nice work. Why is it, that so many saw these jackets as suitable house painting wear? Sheesh!

It was with any uniform piece at afterwar time,
immediately after the war it was simply available and inexpensive and probably many (vets and not only) use it as a change of clothes. The same fate was for many field jackets from M43 to M65 from Vietnam era.
They became collectible expensive items much later.

That’s a great piece of restoration Steve, does the jacket fit you or was it purchased with a view to preserving the jacket
