RARE GLENN MILLERS U.S. A.A.F. DRESS UNIFORM TUNIC HAT !!!

$15K BIN!!!

The title is misleading. The jacket and hat did not belong to Glen Miller, but were supposedly worn by him in England for his last concert, being loaned to him by MAJOR C.E.LEMMON, whose name is in the jacket. Someone has crudely inked Glen Miller's name over Lemmon's! Even if there was proof Miller borrowed this jacket and hat surely the BIN is way OTT? I am still wondering why Miller did not wear his one set of pinks and greens at the concert? It all seems suspicious to me and the seller is using Miller's name to make a lot of money (he hopes!).

One would need substantial documented proof which he clearly hasn't got and it seems to be one of those tall tales told over the years! A look at the photos taken of Miller's UK concerts in the After the Battle book on him or 'Next to a Letter from Home' book would maybe clear this up; I sold my copies some time ago so can't check.

FAKE ALERT!!

C'mon why would Capt Miller write his name in indelible ink if he just "borrowed" the uniform for a "performance"???? :?: :?: :?:

Looks like a "1944" SHARPIE to me......

NO WAY this is real......

I'm with Andrew on this one. The BIN price is side-splittingly laughable even if the seller could prove his outrageous claims.

The seller's two negative feedback comments are revealing if one can believe them. This is essentially a scam to make money.

So you don't think the story is plausable then

Not in the slightest. For one thing, did he earn those combat decorations? I know he's considered a hero, but not in the most conventional sense. I believe his highest decoration was the Bronze Star, and it was awarded posthumously at that. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The seller is not claiming the decorations belong to Miller as the jacket wasn't his. Pressumably some were Lemmon's, but the number might imply they were added more recently.

I think you're viewing the listing in the light most favorable to the seller, which is better than he deserves. For me there are enough questions about this offering to leave every detail in doubt.

I bought a grouping from the same seller and it was shady to say the least. The items were supposed to have come from an estate sale and I reached out to the family, they never had one.
One jacket was named to another pilot. The auction said that the pilot was a war hero, been through many battles.... Upon further research I found out he stayed stateside. The last think the auction said was "ALL HAVE BEEN DRY CLEANED AND HAVE NO SMELL". The whole grouping reeked of cigarette/cigare smoke. That was the worse smell ever (I left all the jackets hang outside for a month and it looks like it is working). The goggles described as good vintage condition were holding with paper clips (literally, I had never seen that)
I wanted to return the whole damn thing. One word with this seller "BEWARE"

The grouping is a FAKE, no doubt about it. I am sorry for anyone who has bought anything from this seller.

I hope you reported him to eBay. this is the only way to police these sellers.

We worked sth out offline. The grouping for me was actually legit (3 jackets have the pilot's name from the tailor and his goggles have his name on it and his son confirmed they were his. At the end i got a pretty good deal but the description was almost 100% wrong.

Can you say, DNA test!

Also, the ribbons are upside down. The highest award should be at the top, so they are in reverse order.
