Take a 12 gauge to a beer can and this is what you get. Hope the guys made it out.

My thought on this
1. There was a top secret program where they stripped old dilapidated B-17s of every thing that was salvageable and then stuck a radio receiver in the aircraft attached to the auto pilot . They would load it with explosives and then a pilot would take it off and then bail out over friendly territory. The second plane would have a controller pilot who would remotely fly the flying bomb into the target kamikaze style .
