American DH.4s bombing Montmedy, north of Verdun, while American troops advance in the Meuse-Argonne sector. 3 bombs have been released by one bomber, one striking a supply station, the other two are visible in mid-air on their way down...

These before they go over the top photos from WWI really tug at the heart strings for me.

This snap taken during NZ's final attack of WWI near Le Quesnoy in France. Many of these men will be injured or killed in the next few minutes (although the assault was a success)...
