Possible Monarch M-422A.

Look at the brown painted stopperbox. Only Monarch did that as far as I know.
The giveaway that it's not Monarch is the lack of center-seam liner construction (if the liner is original).

If someone can identify the jacket based on the listing photos only, they have a much better eye than me. Can't see the stencil, pencil pocket, and overall shape of the jacket. The brass Talon does narrow it down quite a bit though.

Zipper is original to the jacket. No other sewing marks. Was it Monarch making the AN-J?
If the brass zipper is original, I think it would have to be a Block if it's a 422A, but the liner's not right. Most A's carried nickel zips. It's not a M-422 based on the collar stitching. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any AN series jackets with brass M-39 Talons.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge than I will weigh in. If it's a USN jacket that's not been refurbished, it's not a contract that I recognize.

Looks like the the Talon on my Monarch A-2 .. original.
Yes, it's clearly an original brass M-39. Just stating that, if it is a USN contract jacket and the zipper is original to it, there's a fairly limited number of possibilities. IIRC Block jackets were the only M-422A's that sometimes used brass in leiu of nickel zips. Brass M-39's were primarily used on M-422's and it's not one.

Interesting theory. I am a zipper head. I'm kinda a little bit overzealous on the zipper thing.
I have a good zipper knowledge.
