Pieced leather repro patches

I've noticed in the last month or so that there's been several sellers listing pieced/sewn leather patches on ebay. One of the sellers is Dubow2. I've purchased several of his patches when he was a member of VLJ, and have always been an admirer of his workmanship. When he started selling on ebay, I immediately snatched up three of his recent offerings. He sold each listing as a set, I picked up his CBI, 8th AF and 12th AF sets and made a bid for another of his 75th FS / CBI sets. He's listed some more of his patches, so if anyone needs pieced leather patches, his workmanship is tops in my book, and more than reasonable, his set of three patches is what other sellers are asking for a single patch. (I'm probably shooting myself in the foot, but fair's fair).

i have had the pleasure of dealing with both patch makers. they are artists. "a-2jacket patches" is sean collins, who is a true master. his ability to reproduce patches from references, ie: book pics, reunion sites, mags, etc, is uncanny. some years ago, i sent a patch to him for him to make a clone of, and when he sent back my patch, and the copy, i was hard pressed to tell which was the clone and which was the copy...thats how good it was. make no mistake about it, all of these guys out there making wwll repro patches [not to mention jeromes pin up a-2 painting] put a great deal of time and effort into their work. remember, each and every one is done by hand, by an artist. i have had some made with no intention of putting them on jacs, as i like to just look at them as a kind of folk art.

Not too long ago, I made a post in re: Sean Collins 48 star flag patch, being sold on ebay, it is a nice piece of work. I also thought very highly of his unofficial nude AFC patch. I agree with you, that both are artists. :D
