More great pics - thanks for posting.
It's odd looking at these things. You're in awe, and part of you thinks "what a cool time" but then reality is you thank (your) God or lucky stars you're not there. It's romantic to look at. Very humbling too.

LOL, I have a two week break from any flying coming up. Figured that and the cooler weather will stimulate some sewing!

I noticed that too. The name tag looks good but from a different jacket or suit.

IMO, "restoring" an original usually just doesn't work.

Marcel, the SBD they are in has the code VS-41 on it so he may have been with VS-41 and not VF-41 .

The pilots with the patches on thier jackets in this photo have both versions of the VMF-124 on thier jackets, the pilot at right has the 1st design that had Eagle/Globe/Anchor with corsair wings/VMF-124 title and a number "1" above eagle, the pilot at left has the latter design that had corsiar wings with spot cenetered and skull over it , and a star with "1" in top point and in small letters/numbers "VMF-124" in the lower portion . Both patches were on a round/oval shaped background .

hope you enjoyyyyyyyyyyy ;)
