Patches identification [request]

Hey Folks,

Can you help with the identification of patches - ideally both, on this G1 [05 Jan 1968, DaNang]? THX!

Here it is VMO-3 patch ( I believe)

Perfect, thank You for pointing to VMO-3 [Deployed in December 1966 to Hue/Phu Bai and reassigned to Marine Aircraft Group 16, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing], the great starting point for further research. Looks, like this variant with an upper tab.

Any idea about the upper patch?

The rectangular patch above the Squadron Insignia
looks like a variant of the Flag of Thailand.

The writing is Vietnamese and means “got it “! “Understand”! in a sense of order/command tone.

I was assuming the same, but VMO-3 was stationed at that time at Phu Bai, also I haven't seen any flag patch at this particular place on the jacket. I have one USMC G1 where the Thai flag was attached, but it was under the main USA flag.
