Agreed, the only way clowns like this will start to feel it is if they are inundated with complaints. Give them the feeling their deception has gone viral. What better exposure than FB and FL?

It must be the paint. Surely you gents are mistaken.
Sad though. You go from being unenlightened to a crook just like that.

The seller knows fully well that his jacket is a repro Scott, but refuses to describe it honestly. I'm not calling him a criminal, but am concerned that a newby may splash out £800+ on this repro!

Oh I know Andrew - was just being sarcastic. But if someone is told info like that, at the very least, they should engage and try to find out of it's true or not. Ignoring it seems to put them into the latter category...

Of course if one wanted to be cheeky, they could buy it and then role a claim on ebay/paypal for selling a fake. That might teach them...

Interesting idea Scott. But would you waste your time buying this jacket and then filing a claim?

No, not really. However, If someone had previously been ripped off by a seller like that, it might be fun to do.
Ebay 100% favors buyers to the extent where I will not sell any longer.

Buying an item for the purpose of hassling the seller is "Malicious Buying" and easily figured out buy Ebay. I've already nailed a guy for it.

The position Ebay takes on buyers is really the only one they can take and should be enough for any newbie that gets screwed. And any newbie that gets screwed didn't do his homework so he's paying for his education. I've spent about 50 bucks in the past month buying marbles because One guy told me they were old. 50 bucks well spent on an education after finding out my marbles are good for nothing else but decorating the bottom of a fish tank or something, all were made in China yesterday. So 50 bucks, a few hours of research, joined a forum, and now I have a basic idea what to look for and won't make the same mistake again.

 Left myself wide open for that one. Just goes to show ya that it's not just flight jackets, all collectibles are being misrepresented. I've got no business jumping into the marble field but glad I did. Some of them are worth big money and pretty confident I'll be able to spot the cherries now.
