Original ASSAM DRAGGINS WW2 Squadron Patch

I don't have a clue as to patch values...in the past if I saw a painted leather patch I liked, I'd just paint a copy for myself.
I saw this one and the primary reason it got my attention was the $1000 starting bid. For those of you who collect patches, is this a realistic price ?

i like collecting patch, isaw patch with different value form ridiculous price to indecent price.
personnaly, i will never pay such an amount for a patch.
impossible today to be sure of the authenticity of the patch, and pay so much will be (again for me) unreasonnable.
i wish to say stupid but i don't want to hurt someone.
not able to paint myself a patch, i prefer to ask an artist to realise some repro at friendly price.
i can easily imagine how much splendid repro i may have for 1000 dollars.
and though a patch could be certified as authentic, could be a rarity, could be as beautiful as he can, i can't imagine buying this patch regarding his price compare to an authentic jacket with original art paint and/or patched, or a spledid and complete helmet with goggles and comm's; for me there is no hesitation; i buy the jacket.
that's my personnal feeling regarding the starting price of this patch.
another remark, i'm not a specialist, just enthousiast but i don't think that this patch is authentic.just my 2 cents.
we saw often here on the forum that some piece presented on ebay as authentic, rare, from estate, from my father aso aso.... are simply a fake of bad quality, it could be a jacket, or anything. so much money, without insurance except what the seller said, no...not for me.
