Original 1942 Bronco 29181 in a rare size 46.

About 2 weeks ago Aero had a quick sale of three A2 jackets. One of them was an original Bronco 29191, of which approximately 59,000 were made. The contract was issued with Bronco Mfg. Corp in May of 1942. The jacket was issued with a No5 Auto Lock Crown Zipper. Original Bronco A2’s are difficult to find these days particularly in a size 46, so I contacted Aero and purchased the jacket. Below are some recent photos of the jacket. It’s a little too warm today to wear but I thought some of you might be interested in a few close ups of the jacket. I thought you guys might enjoy checking it out.
Thanks for looking.

I thought that really couldn't be done -- and I thought Gary was one of the first to tell us so. Hmm.

It's more like the appearance of cow and horse are a Venn diagram with significant overlap. Some cow and horse hides look distinctive enough that an experienced leather aficionado (or professional) can tell the difference. But a lot of it is just so similar that you would need DNA tests like Gary did. But yes, eye-balling it is a pretty unreliable method.

Damn, Burt, that's amazing! And it fits you better than just about any A-2 I've seen here!
Enjoy it - wear it! Color me jello my friend! :)
