That seriously looks awesome Jeremiah. A thousand times better than that linoleum in the first pic
Smithy my friend, how can you say that! A beautiful BK Dubow repro in the first pic, destroyed by the last pic, imho.
Jeremiah, you are so lucky to have a stature that could with ease find a wearable original with all the aging you desire in your chrome tanned perfection so why spend time and $ on oversized repro’s and then f#*%#%ck them up?!
Sorry, I don’t get this on so many fronts. BUT it is your $ so if you enjoy carry on!
You do know I have an ELC right?Give ups and go for a better make. ELC, JC or Aero.
Appreciate the concern but I did not botch this up. The jacket as was in person was horribly pigmented. Even Andy told me to pass on this when I bought it off eBay which was no where near what some are paying for a repro these days BTW. I know what I am doing with dyes. Been doing it for years with leather. Was not going for an aged look. Like I said, this was be result of the pigment finish coming off with acetone. You know they used acetone in the war right? When they did the depot redyes.
It’s my jacket Pal. I will shred it under a lawnmower for all you care. So please don’t come in here with your opinion if your trying to tell me what to do with MY gear. You should have stuck with your first post and let it go. It was humorous. This last one just makes you look bad my friend. No disrespect.
I have two jackets that I would not do this to. This one needed it.
Believe me. No amount of wear was doing anything with this finish by any stretch of he imagination. Smith had it right when he compared it to linoleum. It’s exaxtly what it felt like and looked like. BK themselves were ashamed of how this leather turned out.
ha.Love it, Jeremiah! Man, what an improvement. The first pic looked like somebody from the British Baking Show did a melted chocolate replica. The final result looks awesome... just needs some natural creases to wear into the sleeves and such, and now it looks great as a daily wearer so you can enjoy doing it. How’s the smell? Any remnants of the leather smell or is that gone forever?
