I’m not big on the aged look. I want a regular jacket that will age on its own after years of hard wearing.
All well and good, but if you're looking to buy one of the later Aeros in seal, the kind of pre-aging that Mark is doing is accurate:
These originals aged to that blotchy seal-russet color quite quickly - probably within a couple months. As near as we can tell, the leather was tanned as a very red russet, but then was hurriedly re-dyed to a dark seal without bothering to apply a sealant afterward. All this was before the jackets were even made. The resulting jackets aged very quickly - definitely not over the course of years. That's the effect Mark is trying to achieve, and he's doing it very well.
