My father gave me this jacket last year as a gift, all I know is that it came from my grandpa who was in the navy. I'm not the best researcher so I'm unsure of what any of the patches mean. My buddy is an antique dealer and he's very interested in my jacket. Would love any information I can get from you all as you seem to know your stuff. Thanks in advance.

The maker of the jacket “California Sportswear” is one of the lesser known companies who only made a limited number of G-1 jackets. This makes the jacket rare.
I would work with this forums’ members to learn how to care for and protect the jacket and also to learn more about your grandfather and his time in the service. If your Antique dealer buddy is interested in the jacket, advise him that we have several similar jackets for sale here on the forum and one of our members will be glad to sell him one or several jackets. On the other hand , If you have it in the back of your mind to sell this jacket ( I don’t know why you would) then sell it to a member here who will care for it and give it the proper respect and treatment to help it live a long and happy life.
