New GW A2 Monarch

Just received my new GW Monarch A2.
Here are some early pics;

Same hide and knits as John used on the Monarch he recently had up for sale on the GW sale page, but without the "aging".
As usual, a fantastic GW A2.

Very nice Jeff, have you added some length to the jacket?

I decided on a monarch for my GW order and afters seeing Brets and yours it's a dead cert.
What the hide again?

This will, along with the others, surely tide you over till the 'victory horse' comes home.

Got to ask, you seem to have had the majority of GW jackets. What's the most comfortable you can think of. Part of the reason I chose the Monarch was meant to be its ease of wear, just wondered if there were any others you'd recommend.

John's made me 5 jackets. A Perry, Poughkeepsie, '36 Werber, Cooper and the Monarch.
Plus picked up a few used GW's along the way that have come and gone here and there.
Don't think my total owned has reached 18 yet. :lol:

Didn't specifically add any length to it. Just asked John to match the fit of the earlier jackets he's made for me.
Comfort...I'd say the more recent jackets John had made for me....the Monarch and the Cooper, closely followed by the '36 Werber. I also own a Dubow 27798 I purchased used that is very comfortable. Although not specifically made to my measurements, it almost could have been.

Cooper;

Werber;

A2's don't have to be uncomfortable if the maker has the ability to match the jacket design to the customers measurements.
John's been great at doing that for me.
As I like to say, "It's the Indian not the arrow".

I think Alan might hold the GW record. I would have to think back at exactly how many I purchased from John directly (7 or 8) and how many second hand.

Any, back to topic - looks super!!!

5 jackets means total 5 years of waiting?

Nope.
First 2 GW's several years ago didn't have the wait John does now. When I saw GW's waiting time going up I'd place an order every 6 months or so.
If a jacket maker makes a high quality item and is a pleasure to deal with, I'm a dream customer....a jacket addict.

If there are any more delays on the arrival of the VH hide, could be pushing a year on the arrival of my BK A2. ;)

Your question got me wondering when I placed my first GW A2 order .
From old emails, looks like it was back in July 2010.
