I've considered purchasing the B-11 parka to try out since the only other budget B-11 that I'm aware of is Gizemo's at more than twice the price ($700+ shipping IIRC). I'm not really seeing any huge differences between the two jackets based on photos. Aside from the branding problem, I just can't get over the shipping cost. $49.00 for the exact same shipping service that Bronson offers at no charge, with a 2-3 week turnaround. $49.00 should easily cover 3 day shipping through DHL or FedEx.
B11 from the RTWB , is the only budget and quality B11.
B11 from the Gizemo, is the not very much budget and high quality B11.
I know it, because I have considered to buy one.

Just a thought, but would a Gizemo B-10 scratch the same itch and be more amenable to Oklahoma?

Not sure about Gizemo, but my Buzz B-10 is pretty worthless in any temps below 40° F. While OK is pretty far south, we still have plenty of arctic air during January and February. The temp this morning was 12°F with a wind chill of -3°F. The high today is 28°F with a wind chill of 15°F.

The main difference is, liner material.
RTWB used 50% wool 35% alpaca blend, on their current vision
Gizemo used 80% alpaca
And in the hood, I am sure Gizemo gonna use better quality sheepskin , based on my experience with their B10 .

If budget is crucial, perhaps, N3 from Bronson or wait until Real Simons release his N3.

Just my 2 cents.

This is another low from the Bill Kelso lot, i'm sure Gary will be less than pleased and rightly so . The claim the name stems from Clint is total BS IMHO .

Website is „under construction“ for days now….

Yup, it enthusiastically announces...

"We’ll be back soon!
Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment."

"Maintenance" probably refers to them scrambling around like headless chooks after Gary (rightly) got his lawyers to send them a rather persuasive missive regarding their name.

There is already an Eastwood Leather Store in London, registered to some gentlemen from India or Pakistan… obviously they had no problems to Register their shop , despite naming their business so closely to Eastman‘s….
Pakistan and India are not members of the PCT ( Patent cooperation Treaty ).
In theory ( in their countries) they can even call their shops Eastman or Buzz Rickson’s … No issue at all in their countries.

But he said it was in London. I can’t see ELC having the sort of clout that gets a garage business called Easy Car Repairs or something having to change their name.

Yeah,

They are UK based, as:

Eastwood Leather Ltd.
104 Lower Clapton Road
London, United Kingdom, E5 0QR

And they are obviously selling leather jackets:

These guys are of no thread to Garry or the Eastman name , however Bill Kelso doing the dirty with their "Eastwood" label / website is a very different story and i'm happy to see their site down now.

I guess it's not the point what is "dirty" or not, or if a business like the business of Eastwood Leather Ltd. in London is a threat to Gary Eastman or the Eastman name... or not.

The question is: What's justiciable?
The London guys have apparently a legally registered business. I am not familiar with the laws in the UK, but in Germany you would have to double check with the Trade Register and the Trademarks & Patent Office, and make sure that registered company names, especially when they are too similar to existing businesses and business models, do not violate others property rights.

Usually, when you register your business and protect the company name as a "word trademark", you register all the variations as well: Eastman, Eatsman, Eastmann, Eastleather...you get my point.

If these guys have named and registered their shop in London Eastwood Leather, then it could indicate that ELC does not own the rights...

You could question BK's decision to run an Eastwoodleather.com website, but it's probably nothing that violates ELC's property rights.

Now, the circumstance that the Eastwood site is down...I would not be surprised if ELC has been in contact with the guys from London and pushed them into a certain direction...and the trademark of Eastwood Leather Ltd.. would have a new trademark owner, soon..

But...it could all be guessing, and the website is up again, soon.
