BTW, I will be starting my own repro jacket company later in 2025. Mainly repro A-2's but with a broken in look. I'm calling my company Good Worn Leather. You can just refer to my company as GW. I'm sure its all fine.......................
I think you're selling yourself short. Bill Kelso Corp is a can't miss brand name. Named after, you know, the late '60's pitching sensation...

I don’t quite understand. How is it that the person in charge of BK (Pete ?) didn’t anticipate that choosing the name "Eastwood Leather Clothing" could cause problems ?
The brand image it conveys to customers is really not good at all. How can someone shoot themselves in the foot like this?
I'm not trying to knock BK, I just want to understand...

Edit : In addition, they contacted moderators to relay the information on the forum. How did they expect us to react ? It just doesn't make sense...

This is something I don't understand either. They hate it when their A-2s are compared to an ELC or GW. They always say we have to compare them to originals - and I get that, fair enough. They're copying originals, not copies of originals. But then this name goes completely against that mindset.

Make it more visible:

And that sentence marked with blue line: Since 1958
1958 is the date, that RTWB created, as a state owned garment factory , starting production military flying gear for komi Air Force, or other state owned business project.

In general, I don’t think they have lied about anything, the facts are out there , right on their logo.

By far, the RTWD dont have reputation at out world, like what Bronson have built in last decade. That is why they need to create a new brand.

But , that name Eastwood Learher Clothing Co. (ELC co.) Is really :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Whatever our views are it’s all very subjective but if I was in the market for a new jacket I somehow doubt I be considering buying from them. Call me traditional and yes I’ve looked at over the years all these Jonny come lately companies but just not been tempted given the mixed views and comments, mainly from this forum! Add in the fact that coming from where they do, any problems I think could be exacerbated! Maybe I’ve been lucky this jacket bug hit me before such competition existed!! Must say though I hate this plagerism of name connotation - it can’t surely be down to hoping ‘search software’ points a punter in their direction?
Be interesting to see comments down the line though from anyone who does succumb!!!

Maybe BK bought RTWB, but I think a deeper partnership is more likely.

In any case, these "products of Eastwood Leather Clothing" are products that Universal has been selling for the past decade, and they are positioned to offer military enthusiasts something roughly passable ------ good quality as a piece of clothing, but as a replica they will always fall short in one way or another,To be honest, I would prefer to go with gizemo, the price difference between the two is not huge.

And really, Platon’s Dubow jackets were essentially a spin-off brand.not trying to suggest these will be at the same quality as Platon’s jackets (I highly doubt it), but it’s a similar idea.

But unaffiliated to BK, right? Actually competition I'd say. And obviously high quality, not some rebranded Chinese 13-in-12 wannabe in it too.
