Mystery G-1

Here is an eBay special I picked up a while ago. It's my anytime/anywhere wearer. It was advertised as a 42 and the measurements bear that out, but it was devoid of a label when I got it. It is stamped USN and has a Dynall (Dynal? Dynel?) collar. The shape of the stitching where the label used to be leads me to believe that it is an E series. What do you all think? Also odd, the sleeves have no stitching at the end by the cuffs, and the cuffs seem long. Always figured that they had been shortend at some point. Luckily the longer cuffs still make this one wearable. Here are some pics.

nice looking g-1 .
I’m looking at the stitching near the zipper and it looks like a double row of stitches one laid over the other. I’m thinking the knits were change out at some point . Also the color of the knits looks a little too medium brown on both the wrist and waist knits .
But over all it looks nice.

I’ve got one pretty much the same-missing white label, brown Dynel collar. Cost me £40 off EBay. Only difference is that mine has Velcro for patches and nametag. The much-maligned cowhide has aged beautifully. One of my favourite beaters.
