My last A-2 (hopefully) - Good Wear

It actually even feels lighter. I was so convinced it was lighter than my Italian horsehide rw that I weighed them. I was shocked to see my horween dubow was actually slightly heavier. Just the feel of it.
The softness definitely fools you into thinking that it's a less substantial jacket than what it is. I haven't weighed my Bronco, but in the hand it's discernably heavier than my HH BK Star. There's a really noticeable difference between the Horween Bronco and my Pakistani goat GW Rough Wear 18091. It feels incredibly lightweight. I'm off to find my digital scale to make sure this isn't all just in my head...

It’s a negligible amount. I weighed my 3 Goodwears. Bronco horween, dubow horween and rw Italian. The Italian was the lightest by a very small margin.

Whew, I wasn't crazy...

GW Rough Wear 18091 in Pakistani goat = 44.13 oz

BK Star in Liberty HH = 50.16 oz

GW Bronco 1761 in Horween = 54.71 oz

All three jackets are size 42 with nearly identical measurements.

There ya go. I’m all for finding answers to curiosity but can you imagine if Officer Dibley was watching. Man, would we be in for it. Probably something like “ people are dying in wars and starving all over the world and you guys are worried about the difference in weights between your fuckin overpriced jackets “ what do think? Close?;)

Every active member of this forum , let’s say, buy two jackets less for each year, gonna cause serious trouble upon world economy.

I'm thinking again about what you said. I believed you, but I had no idea. This leather is unbelievably soft.
I have to avoid to caress my jacket too much when I wear it, or people will think I'm crazy. :po_O

Probably a very strange take on my end, but it seems like so many of JC's jackets seem to carry their own personality. This one 100% meshes with @Saint-ex 's style.

Interesting that a jacket perceived to be so soft and lightweight turns out to be the heaviest of the bunch, by as much as 20+% over a similar-sized goatskin jacket and nearly 10% over a different flavour of of HH. Who would have thought...

Aren't Goatskin always lighter than HH ?

But yes, the softness and drape of the leather can mislead as to the actual weight.
The weight is something that I felt the 1st time I wore the GW Bronco in goat , felt like I was wearing quasi a shirt . Super light weight compared to the HH ELC I own , but very strong when I tried to enlarge the shoulders , just to see , less elasticity than the other A2 in HH .

Not strange, feel the same about you and your 1761, PA and his 23380, Jan’s 27752/Monarch… many more to mention but you get the gist.

He’s just an artist plain and simple.

I flatter myself that this upcoming 27752 will have my name on it but let’s see!
