That is indeed amazing looking. It'd easily pass for an original if it was on ebay. Wonder what leather JC was using at that time.

Pretty convincing. I met a guy at the last Rose Bowl swap meet who knows JC and had one of his russet jackets - it looked just like this. Had to say, the only thing that would make you wonder if it's not WWII vintage is the heft. I've never felt a WWII A2 with such substantial hide. If it had been my size, I might have tried running off with it
Nice jacket - that's inspirational!

Andrew, I placed the order in the spring 2009 and received the A2 in October, same year. At that time John used the HH from Japan (I don't know if he still uses it).

very nice. is the leather used for the pockets shiny and smooth, looks like it's the same kind of leather used on the back piece of sleeve.

That looks simply amazing, Carlo! Have you used any conditioner on the leather over the years?

Thanks Noel and everyone! No I haven't. It's only open air wear (spring and fall), also in hard rain days... In summer and winter the jacket sleeps in a dry, math-free wardrobe in its wooden hanger :)

I'm pretty sure it was the reddish Japanese Horsehide, I recall when Carlo first posted it here.

Nice work Carlo, looks great.
