Folks,
I have a couple of U.S. Authentics that are very good jackets except for the usual glaring flaw of the USA's: those forward slung epaulets. Does anyone know a method or a tailor that can rotate the epaulets of a USA back to the place they should be, i.e., on top of the shoulder? I don't care if they straddle the shoulder seam or not, just so they're on top of the shoulder like they should be. I realize this may involve some expense, and could drive the cost of a USA up into the realm of the next level, that being Gibson & Barnes (and one would argue "just buy a G&B"), but since I already own the USAs, if there's a relatively cheap method of correcting this one glaring historical error, I'd like to pursue it. Suggestions?
