I think the liners were meant more for the B-3s as the A-10s were lined. Then again, if it saved fingers....

I think the liners were to give the wearer more dexterity while still protecting their pinkies !! there is a pic somewhere I have in a book with a airmen wearing them underneath a pair of A12 's if I recall correctly
Thanks for the pics...They are in great shape! The Rayon were designed for the B-3 but as stated could be worn with anything...the USAF reissued the B3 with the reissue of the A-2 and they included the rayon liners...funny thing I never see too many crews with the leather glove or the liner...
