List of reproduction A-2 makers
To help those considering to purchase a new A2
Most of these companies make other style ww2 jackets and A-1s
I will confine this list to ww2 and prewar contract and ww2 generic style "house" jackets.
Price, contact information, sizing alterations and country of manufacture are included
Prices are based on the cheapest horsehide version if they sell one, some A-2s were other types of hides and those may be cheaper.
I have not dealt with all of these companies so the information is based on what is on their own websites.
Listed in order of price with the exception of Japanese jackets which are at the bottom due to variations of new prices.
Prices current as of November 2019.
Advice to new buyers
Many prefer to but used jackets as depending on what you after they may represent better value and if you did not pay too much they will hold hold their value.
If you want to buy new there are some things you have to consider that the majority of consumers do not have to deal with.
The jacket may take a long time to be made and customer service ranges from very good to poor.
Some makers can only be contacted by email and may take a long time to reply to you.
Before buying I would strongly advise to a post question on the forum about which contract jacket may be the best fit for your body type.
Good wear had good descriptions of the fit of the various contracts but remember they are the jackets he makes, if you see something you like but are going with someone else again post on the forum about the cut of the jacket from the maker you are interested in, they are not all the same.
