Jackets at the WWII Museum, New Orleans

Back in June, I made a road trip out to New Orleans, and one of the top to-dos on my list was the National WWII Museum.
Here are a few of the jackets they had on display:

I've got a few other pretty decent pictures of some work jackets and bits of ephemera, as well as the airplanes and stuff, if anyone is interested in seeing what the museum looks like. There was a display dedicated to Greg Boyington and the Black Sheep, some navy kit, ...stuff like that.

Thanks for sharing the pics of these fantastic jackets. I can see a Perry, Dubow, United Sheeplined/Bronco and an Aero nicely displayed.

I'm very pleased everyone enjoys the pics. I wish the sun had been a little more cooperative: there's a lot of glass in the front of the museum, thus the reflections on the cases. I took several more, of the art in particular, but you can see my goofy mug almost as well as the jackets.
Here are a couple of the lesser quality ones -

That complete suit is from 354th FG Ace Jack Bradley. Fellow 354th FG Ace Clayton Kelly Gross' A-2 (Dubow 27798) shares the same case. Gross' jacket has his plane's name (Live Bait) on the back. Both great pieces.

That's a rare painted patch on the Cable A2. You have taken some great pics especially when the jackets are behind glass.

I am particularly fortunate to have the Museum of the Pacific War just an hour north of me. While I have some pictures of jackets from there as well, they are really bad. However, I get up there fairly regularly and will get a good post going on them, too. Of special interest: Tex Hill's jacket.

Thanks for posting the photo's, some interesting jackets there.

BTW, when taking photo's glass reflections can be reduced by fitting a polarising filter to your Canon EOS REBEL T3.

Heh - an accessory I did in fact purchase, after the fact. Perhaps a hood is in order as well. It does appear that quality pics are the norm, rather than the exception on this site. It's appreciated.

Yeah, a polarizing filter is the way to go. For those who may not be familiar with that type of filter, it's a filter that screws onto the front of the lens--the glass part of the filter can be rotated in its mount to adjust the amount of polarization. Don't confuse it with the "UV" filter. That filter is a simple glass filter that helps with outdoor scenic shots and mostly is used by photographers to protect the lens.

Cool! Thanks for the photo. I was curious if it was the same one in Maguires book. It appears it is.

This does indeed look like the G&F M422A in Maguire's book. It has the same repair to the left pocket.

Definitely the one in the museum (repair on the pocket), but I'm not sure the tiger's patch is the same... :?:
The one on the wartime picture looks like a single layer, but I'm not 100% sure.
