hi!
i bought a really nice 70's leather jacket of ebay.
it was a real bargain and is in good condition considering its age.
now unfortunately i think it mught be a bit too short. width is fine.
when i got it i used lexol to condition it and later leather stretch spray from the show store to stretch the right sleeve as it seemed to be shorter than the left one. well i think the sleeves are still quite short and the jacket could be longer.
The tshirt is quite tight even if it doesnt look like it so taking a size smaller would mean a s which is far too small for me
what do you think?
is there any way of getting this jacket to fit well?

cheers

The sleeves look ok to me. You could wet the jacket and try and stretch the body, but it is unlikely to cover the waistband on your jeans. From my experience when you are not 100% satisfied with a jacket it normally gets sold on.

Gone, but not forgotten.
Yes, the sleeve length looks fine ... you may find that it isn't the jacket, and you have one arm a little longer than the other. I do, and I'd never noticed until I started obsessing over jacket fit.

The length of the jacket also looks about right, it's a short jacket, so it's supposed to be that length .... tuck in the T-shirt, and you're good to go.

I guess it comes down to personal taste. It would be fine with high waisted 1940s trousers, but with jeans it is likely not to cover the waistband.

I agree about the small size and never being satisfied with a jacket.
On the other hand, this is how those were meant to be worn in that period. A larger size in that style might be more comfortable for you but wouldn't look as good to me.
My "punk rock era" jackets are all trim fitting as well.

3 options, stretch the leather to the desired length, (not likely to happen), shorten your arms and torso (almost impossible), or get another jacket that fits to your liking. These are some of the sad options when one is into buying leather jackets.

thanks for your answers. i was thinking about shortening my arms and torso already but then i realised that none of my other clotthes would fit anymore.
i think i will keep the jacket and go with s size t shirts.

One other option to add to the list is getting some higher waisted pants. I think the lower rise of your jeans is a big part of the problem.

The sleeves might be a touch short, but I think it is the design of this style jacket.
The body length I don't think is the problem, it's the low rise cut of the jeans. Having your shirt untucked is another part of the illusion.
BUT, you have to feel comfortable with the fit
