Is this wear/marking normal on a new jacket?

I have a new lambskin jacket, which I've worn for a total of 7, days whilst on holiday.

There are marks appearing, and having never owned one of these jackets before, I want to check if it's normal for such a short period of time. To be fair, the wear to the sleeve may have been caused from rubbing against my camera bag.

I know these jackets generally have a somewhat rugged look and it's normal to have some unique wear, but given the cost, thought to run it by you guys just in case.

Without having any experience in these jackets, I'm unsure what to make of it. I expect wear as time goes on, but as John lever says, it seems premature after a week of use.

More info required. What sort of jacket and what have you been doing while wearing it?
It's a flight jacket from Nobel House, Germany. And just general walking around sightseeing, visiting places, etc, whilst on holiday in a cold climate.

Do they normally wear this quickly? I'm just concerned that after 6 months it might look real bad at this rate.

In the last year or two we’ve heard more negative stories about Nobel House jackets than we’ve heard good ones. I have a feeling that you won’t be able to return this jacket because you mentioned that while you’ve only worn the jacket 7 times , that you’ve owned it for 6 months . Is that correct ? If so good luck trying to return it or exchange it for something else.

Well, the noble house owner Alexander M. is a rascal. He tries hard to make his jackets look good and quality stuff but he also is busy of keeping his production costs as low as possible; cheap materials, sloppy and rought sewing, lack of accuracy, production in Argentina where the workers are paid low etc...
Well, a fault like Skiny has with his jacket is not the rule with noble house but also very possible.

What I don't understand is: if you already have a good running leather business, why not trying to improve your quality and accuracy over the time? 5* was on noble house level also as they begun with their business and just look where they are now (and that's not the end of the road)...

Sorry if I offended you @Thomas Koehle , I know you're friends with A. , but we may have a different view on things.

I wouldn’t be happy with that! Might be worth reaching out to NH showing them those pictures after a few days light wear & see if they are up for making things right. Good luck if you follow that path.

The top coat looks to have cracked and peeled in higher wear places and edges. Not what you want to see on a new jacket. Return it.
I'm not familiar with lambskin, but I had expected a softer version of regular leather. That's the case in some areas of the jacket where it feels much more robust, but in a lot of places, it feels much like you describe. As if an ultra thin layer has separated away, and feels very light and fragile. I was concerned with this when it arrived, but just assumed that's how it was.

To ask the question is the answer Skiny ;)... Go with your initial feeling, only 7 days...

Yeah, you're right! I had doubted myself as it was surprising to see something like this fail so quicky.

Not 6 months, but just over 1 month since I bought it (arrived here early December). I was just wondering what state it might be in in +6 months. So far, it's had less than a week of wear from brand new has caused the wear you see in the pics.

That's a real shame to hear!
As you say, it's strange to cut corners on something so crucial, on what appears to be a fairly well regarded leather business.
The above issue aside, I wouldn't have any other complaints with it. Their customer service when buying were really helpful, too. But, we'll see what happens when I email them. I hope they're reasonable!

Thanks for the replies :)
