i just won this jacket, is this really a very rare jacket? I am new to this thing and would like to learn.

We mean that these are not faithful reproductions but mass-market jackets sold in supermarkets that look from a distance like vintage pilot jackets but are not.

No … these are not rare jackets .
They are not collectible or historic jackets .
They are “Mall” jackets made to look like military jackets and sold commercially in shopping malls .
Save your money , read this forum and you’ll begin to learn what jackets are worth your time and money .

Mall jacket = garment made to retail in run of the mill clothes shops. These examples happen to have been produced with an eye to appeal to those who like clothes very loosely inspired by military items. Value is limited.
