How come USN gear attracts less people than AAF stuff?

If you want to get Navy G-1 envey go to the photo forum and look up USN G-1 Flight Jacket. You will see my late father and his squadron mates looking sharp. He came right out of Holywood! Go Navy!

Got my G-1 issued 1978, Shellback since 1980, USS NIMITZ. Watched the Desert One H-53's launch for the ill fated Iranian hostage mission. They were painted flat desert tan, no markings. I could see how easy it would be to fly into one at night.

Now the A-1, there is an ugly jacket! I have yet to see one original photo of an aviator that looked good in one. To each his own.

How about Jimmy Doolitle in his A-1?
