Did it fit??

Presume the Aero Custom Super Duper Curly Merino was a concurrent actitivity? A 'justin' move (just in case).

Still not arrived yet. I think it's on it's way across the Atlantic by canoe. Actually I doubt it will fit so that's probably going to be a loss for me as I paid £425 for it.
If it's no good it will be sold.

It's here and the condition is almost mint. It has obviously seen very little wear during it's 20 years.
Though it is smaller than my 44 [ label states size 40 ], it's not that much smaller only across the chest. The arm length is the same.
Oddly the two sides of the jacket slightly mismatch so that two horizontal seams are slightly out of level. The zip seam leather tapes are also quite wide suggesting this is an early jacket.
Why they stopped making them like this God only knows as they so much better than the new ones. I paid £500 for this and to me it's worth every penny.

Wow, you're going to be spoilt for choice John with this and the custom Aero jacket!

It looks great, and unlike the latest ELC jackets. How does it compare to the Aero, and the newer ELC (as I know you have also handled recent ELC Irvins)?

Cheers,

Jon

It's closer to the Aero than the current ELC jackets.

Gone, but not forgotten.
John Lever wearing a size 40, who'd have thunk ... and the fit is fine, it looks just right.

And the jacket itself is super ... after keeping Aero up all night, you really have to keep both. :D

I think this jacket is a very large size 40.

Thanks Paddy !
On closer inspection, the right hand side of the zip has been replaced and is off set
Look how similar they are in size -
