Hello all!
I am new to the forum but have been into aviation since my early teens.

My uncle was a pilot and air traffic controller. He used my teen muscles to help him detail planes for his side business at Gillespie Field in El Cajon CA.

Well I stumbled onto a nice piece of history today, a local sale had this like new beautiful jacket and I couldn't pass it up.

Made here in El Cajon by Flight Suits. I'm trying to find a model, and value. It's too small for me but I'd like to find it a good home, the leather is quality, and I'm sure some of you know what I have. Any help is welcomed!

if you call the phone number on the label of the jacket (I just did ) between Monday and Friday 9-5 PST you can speak with a rep there who will tell you want you want to know .
The number comes back to Gibson and Barnes.
Barring that we can only give you a rough estimate of what it is and what it might be worth .

Great advice, I'll try them Monday. Any idea on value and age? I know G&B took over Flight Suits Ltd some years ago.

I'd like to know if it's collectable or desirable to the forum or if it's a eBay thing.

Like I said, I'd like to get it to a collector or enthusiast if possible.

Thanks!

It’s not likely that it’s a collectable jacket as it really has no historical significance. It’s more of a hybrid jacket dancing between a couple of different types of military flight jacket styles . From a pricing perspective It’s probably somewhere around $85,00-$130.00.

Flight suits are by no means bad jackets, widely worn in the flying community I believe (people who actually fly). They did do repro Wartime jackets at one time which were OK but not up to the standard of the likes of Eastman etc. That is a ‘flight’ jacket, using elements of military jackets, in particular the US Navy G-1. I’m not in the US so I bow to Burt’s superior knowledge regarding the value.
