Did I mention that the jacket looks great?
Is this the latest horsehide available?
GW has so many leather options I always get confused.

It is the most current horsehide as far as I am aware, Shinki leather japan - LHJ103 as listed on JC's site.

It's a beautiful leather rugged but soft as the same time and shows plenty of grain and creasing, very comfortable to wear.
