Hi All,

Does anyone owns a GW A2 in light russet brown, the one currently referenced on GW website: LHJ01 ? any pic is welcome...
also, I know light russet was often seen on pre-war contracts, on werber, RW 1401, what may be the others ?

thanks

I was searching for pictures of JC's light russet horsehide when I stumbled on this thread.. thought I'd give it a bump, I'd love to see some pics as I need to make my mind up between light russet and dull russet :)

its not snapped, just the way it fell on the chair by chance. it was sitting on the hanger
I pulled it off threw it on the chair took the pic and threw it back on the hanger.

Thanks for the picture Paul, is the colour in the photo mostly accurate?

its a tough decision and iv been putting it off as both are so nice.. i think the dull russet has it at the mo but i fluctuate :)

I pretty much always have the collar 'done up' prefer the look, especially with a collar stand. For me it like having an oxford shirt without using buttons

Omarco, have you requested samples? That light russet is really really light... I was considering it till I got a swatch and was able to decide immediately that it wasn't for me. In my totally biased opinion I'd say go with dull, which for the most part is a pretty light shade but also is about as standard as you can get in an A2

Then again, opinions are like- well, you get the idea ;)

I have samples but still having trouble making up my mind.. the jacket is gonna be a 36 Werber with the new golden knits.

I, personally, prefer seal. After looking through several books of originals, i have been impressed by how many are light colored, even though the official milspec was seal. Perhaps many of these have faded.

Omarco its REAL close, thats why I took it in bright sunlight,
I think I took that with my Iphone, but I have a really nice sony NEX7
and a Nikon if you want me to do some other lighting but thats as close
as I can get.
Here is an indoor iphone pic, I think the other one is the Sony NEX7

I would classify this as poor lighting

most all my communication has been with Vickie - who has been brilliant. I think if forced to choose John favours the dull russet.

Does anyone have any views on how aniline and semi aniline differ in real world?

Thanks for the pictures Paul, no need to shoot anything specially. I think the lighter hide is probably a little too light for what i want.

Cheers

My feeling too - you want the jacket to stand out for the quality rather than a very pale hide IMHO.
If John favours the dull russet then I'd go with that.
