seems ebay and paypal are going to become two separate companies. why, you may ask, as do i. tax structure?, stock share manipulation?, a new way to pass the buck?. better service [kidding of course]?. one thing is for sure, and that is, it will be done to further increase their respective profits.

PayPal can make more profits if it operates separately from eBay. The split has been on the cards for some time.
If you check your eBay account some changes to My eBay have been made.

PayPal is just being spun off to compete with other payment enterprises like Apple Pay and Google Wallet. All just good old competition. Like eBay it will be publicly traded so folks can buy stock and share the profit.
