Hi All,

It's just my opinion but I beleive that this following group photo is one of the better group WW-2 photos I've ever seen that features M-422A jackets.

VC-9SquadronGroupPhotoCropped.jpg

The backside of the photo indicated that the photgraph was takein 12-10-43 of squadron VC-9 while aboard the USS CARD (CVE-11).

Cheers, Dave

I was having a discussion with Maverickson about an AN-J-3A and how during WW2 Marine and Navy personnel had almost no art on the jackets, and the AAF did what ever suited them. Now a reversal over the years and the G-1 looks like a road map, and the A-2's not so much.

You can thank the modern US Air Force for sucking the fun out of anything. ;)

Thanks Marcel, that's a great image , I have yet to find a photo of this emblem being used during WW2 , but it very well could be from that time as many were made/worn but not documented as to when they were first used . I know it was used at a later date in the 50's and then later as well .
